Wow here I am watching public access. The most drab, lifeless, bitter town hall meeting I can imagine.
Completely empty auditorium.
Damn horny birds have way too much time on their hands. Skip to 2:00 to get to aww poor guy.
Check out my brothers new site for his documentary on the San Marcos River.
Quadrophenia
This is the ultimate teen angst movie.
I saw this at a pretty young age, its also cool because you get to see Sting in a bellhop costume.
Its pretty formulaic, but for a teenager there’s a whole lot of relevance and its really well done with a good soundtrack by the Who. Rebelliousness, independence, depression, longing, isolation~ its all there, and it does a really good job of putting you in the shoes of a 1960’s British mod.
The Vespas are awesome, id be proud to ride one of those things around town. As an act of rebellion after parliament passed a law to require rear view mirrors on all vehicles they decided they would make a statement by putting 4, 6, 8 mirrors on their scooters. Silly way to fight the power id say.
tumblrbot asked: WHAT IS YOUR EARLIEST HUMAN MEMORY?
My earliest human memory is picking blackberries in the field across the street from my Grandparents house in Vancouver. I guess thats why Blackberries are my favorite fruit.
The Wonderful World of Albert Kahn
These are photos from around 1900. In color. When I first saw these I was blown away.
“In 1909 the millionaire French banker and philanthropist Albert Kahn embarked on an ambitious project to create a colour photographic record of, and for, the peoples of the world. As an idealist and an internationalist, Kahn believed that he could use the new autochrome process, the world’s first user-friendly, true-colour photographic system, to promote cross-cultural peace and understanding.”
I chose to headline this pic because I adore it for some reason, and I can’t put my finger on exactly why. Its the rich fabric of her dress and how it makes the photo seem so much more alive than what we are used to seeing of 1910, that really makes it stand out.
Soundtrack to a Fistful of Dollars
I can listen to this all day.
